I have neglected this for too long. think I have been a bit introverted of late as I even neglected LJ but my blogging mojo has come back
I headed to the Isle of Avalon, one of my crack of doom starts! ie left Maison Jackie at 5.45am to get the first bus of the day! The buses from Bristol have changed times a bit so I was in Glastonbury before 10am! I headed for the gardens and got there just after they opened and had a lovely time wandering round, and sitting in places listening to birdsong and just being and reading some of Dion Fortunes "Avalon of the Heart". Then I wandered back into town and did a bit of shopping. It was very busy! I bought a couple of books including one about Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer which has just come out, cards, and lots of craft stuff, beads and charms etc. Then I headed for a wander round the Abbey ruins and did my usual circuit taking in the wildlife corner and the ponds. Lots of photos were taken.

Sat 21st Jan 2012, visit 73
I have been away from here for too long. I had a bit of a mental block about blogging for a while after an unsettling happening on 1st August. I am getting over that though, and I also had two weeks holidays during which my lovely friend Arwen came to stay for a few days. We had lots of adventures including of course a day out in Glastonbury.
So we are almost up to date with my visit reports, after this one I have made four more visits this year and don't plan the next one till later in the year.
Sadly this visit was a bit of a waste of time for me really as all we did was shop. I met up with two now ex friends who had come over from Europe for the weekend. We travelled down together, and right from the start when they planned the trip I said "can we go to the well". There have been hardly any Glasto visits when I haven't been to the well. I love the shops in Glastonbury and help out the local economy there on my visits but my trips to Glastonbury are to recharge my spiritual batteries, and work things out for good or bad in the heightened way the spirit of place allows. But by the time we had had a late breakfast time was running short and they were determined to shop. So I didn't get my visit to the well.. I should have gone off on my own really- then when I got back they said they had spent a long time at the well on the Sunday, and had a fab time. So I felt this visit was a waste of time sadly. It might have been better not to go to be honest and with hindsight.
But here are a few photos

Sat 29th Oct 2011, visit 72
Yesterday I went down to Glastonbury for the day as there was a faery fayre on (and ball in the evening too though I didn't stay for that). It was fab :)) I got to meet the lovely Jasmine Becket-Griffith who I know via LJ and I bought some lovely things, many for yule presents. I bought some cards, a gorgeous green leather leafy wrist band, and a purple pixie waistcoat for myself.
Then I had a wander round the shops and got more yule presents, a book I had been hoping to find, and a gorgeous silver bangle with faery stars on it.
Then I grabbed some lunch from Burns the Bread, and headed up to the Chalice well for a long wander. I ate lunch sat by the vesica pool, just watching the water flow. The apple tree got a hug. Then I popped into the White Spring which isn't open very often and wow. It now has a huge round pool which the water flows into, plus water flows in the floor, and shrines. Someone was piping in one of the shrines, it was all lit by candles and it was amazing.
Then I headed back into town, finished my shopping (Christmas.. all under control this year!) and had a yummy mochachino in Heapheys. Then as I had done all I wanted and a bus was there, I headed off home half an hour earlier than planned.

Sat 30th July 2011, Visit 70!
Prudence and I went to Glastonbury for a girlie shopping day. Prudence is another individual dresser with her own style, and she loves silver jewellery so I knew she would love the shops there. It was just what I needed too after a long week. We have found out the quickest route from Oxford is A420 to Swindon, which is across country, then M4 Swindon to Bristol, M32 into Bristol, then down the same route that the 376 bus takes. That route is about 2.5 hours compared with 3 hours cross country, or M4/M5 then across country. We got down there about 11.30. We had lunch in the Abbey tea rooms, and afternoon drinks at the Mocha Berry, and a wander round the Abbey ruins but we mainly shopped. Prudence bought an amazing wire collar in Facets of Avalon, and a scarf and brooch at the Abbey shop. Mum insisted on giving me some cash, bless her so I bought a ring set with an amethyst for the ring finger on my right hand, Wendy Andrews 2012 calendar from Wendy herself, she had an exhibition on, and a silver coloured Indian jewellery box. I had been hankering after one for ages but it was one of those things I couldn't really justify so I bought it as a present from mum. I also bought some beads, a Tor pendant and a small faery star pendant. We had a very amusing car journey home eating a packed of Love Hearts sweets with me reading out the captions.
(I have known Prudence for well over 20 years now, and she only lives round the corner from me too)
Yes, it is true, I hug trees!
