Three Goddesses in Glastonbury, 26/27 May 2010, visit 65

Magical visit to Glastonbury with Marta and Dana, 26/27 May 2010. We stayed at the George and Pilgrims, watched sunset from the Tor (almost, it was cloudy) then spent a wonderful 20 minutes or so watching bats and photographing orbs at the foot of the Tor. On Thursday we went to the Chalice Well and spent a couple of hours there. We all did lots of shopping too which must have helped the Glastonbury economy :) We all travel with cuddly toys, the fluffies, mine is Horatio Hare.

It was Marta and Dana's first visit too and they loved it there and have been back since too (they live in Switzerland)

Saturday 27th Frb 2010, visit 64

I went down for the day with Michele, my neighbour who has become a very good friend (and we share the same birth date too!)

Michele and I had a lovely day. We got a taxi to the station, got the 9.50 bus and were in Glastonbury just after 11. It was a bit showery so we started off with coffee in Heaphey's, and a wander round the shops. I bought Glastonbury and Fae magazines, and a couple of cards, plus a couple of things which will be on the way to Marta this week :)) I also got some more tea tree oil in Star Child, I use it a lot so I wanted some to keep in the bathroom, a self esteem workbook reduced to £1.00 which I thought would be very useful at the moment, and a gold bird.

We had lunch in the Who'd A Thought It Inn. I had a cheese and tuna panini, and very nice it was too.

Then we went sightseeing. It was very wet for a time so we were going to go to the Chalice Well first then decide about the Tor but it stoppped raining on the way. So we climbed the tor and part way up it began to rain really hard! I realised.. I had never been on the Tor in rain before. My umbrella decided to die but Michele had a hood on her coat so she put that up and loaned me hers so I stayed semi dry. But after we had been on the top a while the rain stopped, and the visibilty was brilliant, you could see the hills of south Wales, only about the second time I had seen that. It was then sunshine and showery and I wished so hard to see a rainbow.. and we did. Only a bit of one over towards Wells and it didn't last long but I did get a couple of photos. There were also a lot of sheep grazing on the Tor and as we were descending they suddenly decided they wanted to all be on the other side so we watched mass sheep movement. Michele is a very keen photographer so she took a lot of photos and by coincidence I did too!

Then we went to the Chalice Well gardens where the crocuses and snowdrops were out and the daffs just starting to come up. I made a discovery there. I found there is a channel of water which I had never seen before! It runs from the waterfall in King Arthur's Courtyard, round behind the healing pool, then round to where the door which I call the Faery Door is. All those years I have been going and I had never seen it before.

Then the sun came out so we went to the Abbey and had a lovely 45 minutes taking photos in the late afternoon sun. Good journey home and as the evenings are drawing out we got most of the way back to Bristol in daylight.
